NEW Brownie Badges and Journeys

Bugs

Bugs make up 80% of the animal species on Earth! Without them, life as we know it would change dramatically. Come discover their world as we examine them in action, explore their homes and make some buggy crafts to take home. In order to provide the best experience, the most opportune time to schedule this program is between March and November; bugs like warmer weather.

LOVE Water Journey Award

What do you love about water? It nourishes us on a hot day. It has recycled itself for thousands of years. A single droplet can bend light into a rainbow of colors. Discover the water cycle, its prismatic properties and what fun water can be in this Wonders of Water Journey.

We will offer these Try-Its below until September 30, 2012. We recommend checking with the Girl Scout Badge & Sash store to purchase your try-it badges prior to scheduling your program.

EARTH & SKY

With the sky above and the earth below, there is so much to see and do! Search for creatures in the air, check out some clouds and learn more about how the sun warms our planet. Search under the ground to see who lives below and learn what effects water and wind have on soil.

ECO EXPLORER

Get set to explore! Identify what animals need in their habitat, create a food chain and search for clues on a scavenger hunt. Making a craft to help wildlife completes your adventure.

ANIMALS

You know you love ‘em! Demonstrate how animals move and communicate. Discover the difference between pets and wild animals, take a tour of CNC and find out how best to help wildlife.

WATCHING WILDLIFE

What can you learn from watching wildlife? Search for animals’ homes, make a shopping list for them, try your hand at communicating like an animal and become a scientist as you observe critters that live underground.

WATER EVERYWHERE

There’s water everywhere, but can we drink it? Get your hands dirty exploring a CNC pond to find which critters live there and what they can tell us about the health of our water. Learn about the importance of water and visit the source of Atlanta’s water supply – the Chattahoochee River.

All CNC programs strictly adhere to the badge guidelines as outlined in the official GSUSA badge requirements.
